Johanna Annala, docent, university lecturer, leader of the University Pedagogy Team, Faculty of Education and Culture, Tampere University, Finland, is an experienced higher education researcher, with expertise in research on curriculum changes, teacher’s agency and in qualitative research methods. In her research and teaching, she combines the approaches from curriculum studies and social sciences in the context of higher education. She has an enterprise to rethink and cross the divide between critical and normative curriculum theories. This means, that even though she follows the approach from critical curriculum theories, she tries to find meaningful and theoretically elaborated solutions for academic practice.  She is a co-leader of a research group Higher Education in Transition (https://research.tuni.fi/het) and acts as associate editor in a leading journal in the field, Studies in Higher Education.  ORCID: 0000-0001-6531-9627
