iEarth Digital Learning Forum – Kerim H. Nisancioglu
Thursday the 28th of January Kerim Hestnes Nisancioglu presented “DIKU/SDG project at UiB/UiO: digital course on sustainable development and climate action” at the iEarth Digital Learning Forum.
Dr. Kerim Hestnes Nisancioglu is a professor of Climate Dynamics at the Department of Earth Science at the University of Bergen and research leader for Polar Climate at the Bjerknes Center for Climate Research. He holds a PhD in climate science from EAPS/MIT, and has been a professor at UiB since 2012. He has developed and taught a range of different courses, including SDG213, GEOV328 and ACDC. He has also been running an online course on the causes and consequences of climate change through the open university MOOC platform FutureLearn, where thousands of people from all corners of the Globe have participated since its launch in 2015. Recently, he has been engaged in the UiB task force planning for courses and field work on board the upcoming 18 month cruise with Statsraad Lehmkuhl.
